Wowowow I was not expecting to start my Friday with such a treat as this!
Arco looks truly amazing. Knowing nothing about it, I initially thought it might be Japanese, but it’s by French artist and director Ugo Bienvenu. As soon as I saw a French name come up on the screen, I thought “yes, duh, of course, this looks very French.” 😂 (Truly!)
In the comics and illustration world, France is as famous for its styles (as varied as they are) as Japan is for anime, and you can often identify a French or at least French-like European work by that style.
Anyway, this film looks incredible. The English version hits theatres on November 14, and stars the voices of America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Flea (!!), Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo and Andy Samberg.
